Home Home on the Range

5 09 2010

I’m home for the weekend! I suckered a couple of girls into letting me ride home with them to Bridgeport.  The big plus is I got to learn some of the mechanics of backroads Justin, Bridgeport, Saginaw etc… It was a total surprise! I haven’t told that many people at all that I am home.  In fact it was a complete surprise to everybody, except my parents, when I came home.  Esther had the best reaction, jumping and all!  As far as most of my friends and the general facebook world, I was pretty sure that they would come down on my like a pack of wolves when they saw I was home.  I can’t accommodate everyone but I have a few people in mind.

Tuesday is Buddy Holly’s birthday.  It is also Allie’s birthday on Tuesday.  Basically did I want to spend the weekend in Lubbock celebrating Buddy’s birthday? or the weekend in Saginaw celebrating Allie’s birthday? That was a no brainer for me.  I am missing the first football game for the year.  Bummer, NOT! I will end up going to at least one football game.  Everybody says they are a blast but seeing that I am not into football I can’t see it happening, but you never know.  You should’ve seen the look on my mom’s face when I told her I am going to one football game because I promised a guy I would.  I forgot to mention that he is the music director at Allie’s piano teacher’s church.  His son plays on the team.  I promised my friend Laura that I would go to at least one party just to go.  So sometime I will fill that obligation.

Yesterday we went to Half Price bookstore for their Labor Day 20% off sale.  I bought the latest Ludy book for dudes [not for me to read but for my brother], Come Thirsty by Max Lucado and Sister Freaks by Rebecca St. James.  I have plenty to read for now.
