Hi! This is my blog! Why does the header say ‘chapstick chapped lips and things like aural skills’?
1. It is a play on the title of a Relient K song, my favorite band.
2. It kind of describes my life right now. I am having problems with dry skin and chapped lips. Plus I am struggling through Aural Skills class.

I love getting to know people. I love getting the opportunity to look behind the obligatory mask people put up to hide from people.
One of my goals this year is to learn how to be authentic with people. To risk judgement and be honest about those bad feelings that I hide behind. To give people a chance to get to know me, instead of shutting them out like I do with most people. Instead of waiting for them to start the conversation with me.
This blog is an experiment in authenticity. I dream of a world where we can all be authentic and honest with each other instead of hiding the pain and the embarrassing things. I am trying to be honest on this blog. I’m not quite ready to be completely 100% authentic, but I’m working on being honest about the not so pretty things in my life.
